Romanesque Churches

There are so many wonderful churches all over France, but for me it is the smaller hidden churches that hold me in thrall.One such church is hidden away on the route from Angouleme to Riberac in the Dordogne. At the end of a small lane in Argentine next to La Rochebeaucourt et Argentine sits a wonderful example of romanesque architecture,When I first saw the interior I thought maybe John Pawson has been inspired by this architecture, its simplicity radiates calm, its proportions just perfect, and then when a pigeon flew out the amplification of sound was magnificent.The time spent their re-charged me more than a meditation, architecture truly can have a huge influence on how we feel.
